One more week to go...lots to do. I've been working overtime at the hospital, been fundraising with over $1,000 more to go, and have been getting my equipment ready. I just got my bike the other day and have to adjust the front derailleur because it won't shift. I'm hoping to be able to fix it on my own, otherwise it's back to the bike shop. I rode with my new shoes for the first time this week, and let's just say I'm an embarrassment to myself. I have yet to fall over at a stop light, but I feel the moment is imminant. It still takes be about a block to get clipped in so I'll need to practice a bit. I've got a compression sleeping bag, but I still think it's going to be a tight fit to get everything into one bag.
I'm still waiting to receive confirmation to be able to take my nursing Boards before I leave, so I think it will either come down to the wire or I'll have to take them when I return. I'm not worried, but I'd love to get it over with.
Well it's crunch-time, so I'm sure I won't be sleeping much this week! I'm definitely pumped to start the summer!

Let the Journey Begin- Prep Time
It all begins with taking the first step. Even if it's just a small one, it's always the most difficult. Looking at my account record and seeing $0 makes it seem like I haven't accomplished much towardsreaching my goal. I have been blessed with an amazing group of family and friends who have provided me with so much over the years, and for that I am very thankful. It's nice to know others support decisions I've made, even if it makes them a little uneasy. I like to think they've come to expect my unpredictable ideas it by now. Since I've been involved in Habitat since I was 16 and love to ride, hopefully my summer plans don't come as too much of a surprise. Zero is a harsh reality, but I guess I can only go up!
